Who doesn’t love breakfast? But in a lively city where hangovers are a promise and bread is nearly a right of passage we ask ourselves, where the heck do we get breakfast? 

 

At Cheech’s, we set out to redefine what a bagel shop can be. Right in the heart of Jersey City, we’re a little slice of tradition in a constantly evolving neighborhood. Think classic diner energy meets the heartbeat of a deli. Familiar, comforting, and reimagined with a modern twist. We pulled from the best of both worlds to create something the city was missing.

 

The spark came from John, a Jersey City local, and his loyal sidekick Cheech, a tiny Chihuahua with a big personality. Their Saturdays were dedicated to breakfast runs and coffee walks, but despite all the charm JC had to offer, they kept coming up short on one thing: an authentic, really good bagel spot.

 

So John called his longtime friend Gianluca, pizzeria owner, kitchen obsessive and flavor genius. Together, they chased the idea that became Cheech’s. They spent countless hours testing recipes, tweaking ingredients, and building something rooted in their love for breakfast and community.

And the rest? Well… the rest is Cheech’s.
